Student Testimonials

"I came to ALP to learn English so I could get into graduate school. I really liked the activities outside of class where we had many opportunities to improve our English and learn new vocabulary words. I also enjoyed working with conversation partners and talking in English a lot."

Housing
Finding a Place to Live
The International Student Services housing coordinator, Jessica Hammond, will work to help you find the best housing arrangement for you. Email Jessica and reserve your housing option before you arrive. There are several choices:
Temporary Housing
If you have not been able to work out a housing option in advance, please contact us at least 2 days before you arrive and we will reserve a room for you at a hotel within walking distance of the campus. This will give you a temporary home while you look for a place to live. To reserve the hotel room you will need to provide a credit card.
Homestay with an American Family
You can live with an American family, practice English, and learn about American customs. Host families provide a comfortable place and may provide meals, laundry facilities, and a private bedroom with a desk, dresser, and closet. Apply for Homestay
Fullerton University Village
Fullerton University Village is a privately owned dormitory located within walking distance of the university. Almost 300 students who attend Cal State Fullerton live here. It is a student community and the residents and staff are very helpful and friendly. It is located directly across the street from the university campus. Each furnished apartment consists of a living room, kitchen, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms. Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, a dresser, a lamp, and a desk. Three to four students share each apartment. The small single and the large single room share a bathroom, but the deluxe single room has a private bathroom. The fees for Fullerton University Village differ depending on the type of room you choose.
Campus Housing
Most of the university students live in the nearby communities but the campus does offer a limited number of dormitories, and more are under construction. To check availability, contact our housing coordinator, Jessica Hammond for more information.
Apartments
Many apartment buildings are conveniently located near the campus. Some are within walking distance, while others are a short bus or bike ride from campus.
