About Rhona Genzel
Rhona Genzel joined ALP in 2009, after serving as the Director of the English Language Center at the Rochester Institute of Technology in New York for 30 years. Rhona is a world traveler who was an exchange student to Spain and studied Russian in the former Soviet Union. She also served as President of the American Association of Intensive English Programs (AAIEP) in 1995-1996.
She holds a BA in Comparative Literature and an MA in Speech Communication with a concentration in Cross-Cultural Communication. As a result of her extensive experience teaching English and studying cultures, she has published six books on English as a Second Language, including "Culturally Speaking," which is now in its third edition.
"I enjoy learning about other countries and cultures," Rhona says, "and watching our students progress in English and graduate from the university."
